St. Augustine is not only the oldest city in the US, it is definitely one of the most beautiful cities in the US. A good friend and I went there early one crisp morning, and Wow! how gorgeous and quiet it was. Yes, a major tourist destination, we found at a quiet time. Filled with history, churches, all types of quaint shops, and restaurants galore, if you go there once, you'll always want to go back. Watch for the carriages and listen for the church bells. It lets you know you're in St. Augustine.
